.jpg) | The Scrambler is a retro-motorcycle, i.e., a motorcycle with the same shape of an "old" one, but with new engine and electronics.
Triumph had already a success with their Bonneville motorcycles, so they built the Scrambler on that basis. The motorcycle is a street motorcycle that is not afraid to take a tractor path somewhere, or go into the grass.
The motorcycle would not look unusual in the hands of someone like Steve McQueen....
The engine is a twin cylinder 856 cc one, developing 55 hp with a torque of 69 Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine can be limited to 34 horse for beginners. The motorcycle uses a 5 speed gearbox.
The total length of the motorcycle is 2213 mm (wheel base is 1500 mm) and its dry weight is a whooping 205 Kgs, making it quite a heavy motorcycle. The seat height is 825 mm.
The fuel tank holds 16.6 Liters.
The Scrambler motorcycle is priced at € 8790 in France, and will be available in March 2006. A US Price was unavailable upon release of these article. | | | |
