The Saskatchewan Safety Council is pleased to offer two motorcycle safety courses. They are outlined below:

Introduction to Motorcycling

Introduction to Motorcycling is a 6- 8-hour course designed for individuals who have NO experience operating a motorcycle and would like to experience the very basics of operating a motorcycle.

Our program introduces the sport of motorcycle riding in a non-threatening and relaxed environment. The smaller class size means that riders have more contact with the instructors and more time to practice basic skills such as balance, clutch control and slow speed maneuvers.

The cost for the program is $160.00 plus GST.

Motorcycle Training Canada - Gearing Up

Saskatoon Motorcycle Safety Course

Course Itinerary

Each evening students will learn practical, as well as educational, information about the safe operation of a motorcycle. Defensive driving skills are emphasized and taught to all students.

If weather should cause a delay in practical riding, Saturday morning will be used to complete the course. We want people to come prepared to ride even if it is raining, as the day will probably come for all riders to ride in the rain and it is also good experience.

Practical driving skills, that include everything from the basics up to emergency maneuvers:

- cornering
- braking
- shifting
- balance
- controls, etc

Classroom instruction will cover:

- accident avoidance
- group riding tips
- riding gear suggestions
- passengers and how they affect the ride
- emergency situations
- rider awareness, and
- bad weather survival, etc.

This course will not provide you with a SK motorcycle license! It is intended to give you the best skill development and knowledge in order to become a great and safe rider! For a beginner or as a refresher, this course offers information which could save a life. Motorcycles are “invisible” to many drivers, come learn how to protect yourself in a safe controlled environment.

The cost of the course for 2008 is only $300 per student (GST Included).
