Motorcycle Seat Heights Print E-mail
Sunday, 02 October 2005

How high will you sit in the saddle?

Beginning motorcycle riders are often concerned with the seat height of the motorcycle they want to buy. They want to be able to sit on the seat and get their feet flat on the ground. Although a bike can be ridden without the rider having to flat-foot it, most newbie riders like to maintain full balance control to keep the bike upright when stopped.
Each motorcycle manufacturer lists the motorcycle seat height for each of their models in their specifications, however, it would be better if all this seat height information could be listed on a single page across all makes and models.  Well, here you go.

The following is a listing of motorcycle seat heights from the lowest seat height to the highest seat height. All motorcycle seat heights are given in inches.
Associated with each motorcycle seat height is the year, make, and model of the associated motorcycle. These models have clickable links to motorcycle specifications. That way, the user can research individual models given the motorcycle seat height. The motorcycle specs also lead to detailed specs on the manufacturer's Web site.

The following motorcycle seat height data are being released in conjunction with the staged release of motorcycle specifications for 2006. Thus far, motorcycle specs and motorcycle seat heights are available for Buell, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Victory, and the Star line of Yamaha. As specifications are completed for the remaining motorcycle makes, these motorcycle seat heights will be updated and announced in the Motorcycles blog and the Motorcycles Newsletter.

These motorcycle seat height data should be beneficial to new riders as well as other more experienced riders who are looking for machines that will fit them and make them safer on their motorcycles.
