The Saskatoon Motorcycle Training Course is a group of qualified Motorcycle Instructors and riding enthusiasts who have joined together to promote safe riding in a series of week long sessions from May through August.

Several experienced, long-time Instructors have formed this independent, SGI approved, motorcycle driver training course. The instructors consist of a group of highly dedicated motorcycle enthusiasts who volunteer their time to train future and current riders in the safe and enjoyable operation of motorcycles.

The course enrolment fee includes the use of a variety of NEW motorcycles, training area and a classroom. Students are required to provide their own approved helmet and appropriate riding apparel.

Beginning May 8, 2006, each course will consist of five evening classes which will be held in the Alliance Church parking lot, Preston Ave and Circle Drive  (This is the same location that we (the Instructors) have been teaching at for the past several years). Each evening will be three hours and cover practical as well as educational information about the safe operation of a motorcycle.  Defensive driving is stressed. Students will learn practical driving skills that include: cornering, braking, shifting, balance, controls, etc – Everything from the basics up to emergency manoeuvres,  Classroom instruction will cover: accident avoidance, group riding tips, riding gear suggestions, emergency situations, rider awareness and bad weather survival, etc. The cost of the course for 2006 is $300 per student (GST Included).

For a beginner or as a refresher, this course offers information which could save a life.  Motorcycles are “invisible” to many drivers, come learn how to protect yourself in a safe controlled environment.

Application avail at most Saskatoon area motorcycle shops and accessory and repair centers or contact: Syd Petersen at (306) 270-7433 (270-RIDE) or email  npetersen1@sasktel.net
