Fifty countries, five continents and 75,000 km, this adventurer is all set to conquer these and more on his motorcycle in his quest to highlight road safety.

Speaking to newsmen at the local press club, Bharadwaj said he had completed an all-India tour on his motorcycle in 2004 covering about 10,000 kms in 44 days meeting people and was inspired by the cultural diversity of various strata of society.

\He travelled South Asia in 2005 on his motorcycle covering Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and China.

Bharadwaj said he chose an Indian motorcycle for the global tour as he wanted to give a completely local flavour to his adventure.

It took about two years of time, effort and planning to prepare and put all requirements in place, including visas to 50 countries.

This peripatetic adventurer has made several friends during his tours.

He started his quest Monday at Vishakapatnam. On April 14, he will leave the country from Mumbai and hopes to cover about 300 to 400 km a day depending on climatic conditions.

An avid sailor and a trekker, Bharadwaj and his friends started an adventure sports organisation in Visakhapatnam for the benefit of youth and civilians.
