Besides the regular routine maintenance all I did was ride for the first several years. Over the winter in 2002 I pulled the carbs to strip them down and give them a good cleaning. Reassembled everything, and synched the carbs. The thing ran like a new bike. Late in 2004 I started having some problems and the bike left me on the side of the road a few too many times, so by late July I had enough, and the bike was parked for the rest of the year. When I finally got the time to tie into the bike and get it fixed, I stripped it down and started cleaning and replacing parts. At one point about all that was left in the frame was a motor and the swing arm. Some of the major work included rebuilding the forks with new seals and fluid, two new tires, complete carb rebuild including all new screws, all new SS fuel lines,  new silicone hoses, and I am sure there is a lot more that I am forgetting right now. Got the bike all back together, and the carbs synched, and it was like a brand new beast. Roll on the throttle, and it just pulls on your arms like it wants to dump you off.
