Here is SMA administrator Kevin's ride. A 1982 Suzuki GS750. Here's his story of his ride:
I bought it for $80 from a friend of my wife in the spring of 2004 who had it sitting in the garage for over 3 years. I was riding a GS550 at the time, so I didn't worry about getting it running for that season. This is what it looked like in my driveway that entire summer:
Since I don't have a garage, I enlisted my brother and a friend of his to help me to take it into my basement. Although the stairs are quite steep, we made it down without killing anyone or the machine.
When I got it down there, I realized that it was going to be quite a feat to get it back upstairs but I reassured myself that it would be months before I had to worry about that.
In February of 2005, I finally got in gear and started getting it ready to ride. I ended up doing a number of things including redoing much of the wiring harness, rebuilding the carbs and a bunch of other things.
Mid-March 2005, after troublshooting it for a few weeks and doing a bunch of things, I got the 'ol girl to fire up for the first time. The basement was black with thick smoke from all the buildup of sitting for so long.
About March 20th, I enlisted OleManZ and Josh from sasksportbike to help me bring it upstairs. It took us nearly two hours and alot of grunting but we got it up...again, not killing anyone or the machine.
I plated it March 24th and this is a picture of that day:
Here's a picture of it a few weeks later:
Here's a couple pictures after I put a Vance & Hines 4 into 1 exhaust on it and painted 'er up:
Well, 5000 all-city kms later, and it's now parked in my shed waiting to be rode again next year. It's a great bike to ride and those GS's are indestructable. I love it.
