The ride that puts a smile on your face

Image
Steer it like a car and the Carver will bank like a motorcycle. The fully automatic hydraulic-mechanical DVC system makes this exciting kind of driving possible, lending itself very well to a sporty driving style.

Enjoy the steering and feel how responsive DVC balances the vehicle body for you, banking to the exact natural angle.

Its low weight and aerodynamic design allows the modern 4 cylinder 68 bhp engine to take CARVER in 8.2 seconds to 100 km/hour and to a top speed of 185 km/hour.

FAQ's

So what is it exactly, a car or a motorbike?
Both! You steer a Carver just like a car and the Carver reacts (tilts) just like a motor cycle; but then fully automatic!: ‘The Best of Both Worlds’.

What type of driver’s license do you need?
Within all the countries of the European Union a normal car driver’s license is required.

Do you need to learn to drive a Carver or can I just drive away?
Riding a Carver is easy. There is no special skill required. For most people it takes a 15 minute ride to get used to the tilting, after which you will start enjoying its natural behavior.

How does it feel to drive a Carver?
The pleasant sensation of the fast acceleration and super fast maneuverability (tilts at > 80° per second!) gives more kick than driving a super fast sports car and also can be experienced daily. Taking roundabouts has become fun!…

Is the Carver a city car or specially suitable for highway driving?
Carver is both a fast and a very maneuverable vehicle suitable for city traffic, highways and driving on curvy country and mountain roads.

What is the main use of the Carver?
The Carver is very suitable for commuting (low running costs, easy parking, agile in traffic) but is also an ideal vehicle indeed for long and short (recreational and business) journeys.

How does the automatic tilting system work?
By using the advanced Dynamic Vehicle Control (DVC™) system. In an ideal combination of speed, angle of tilt and front wheel angle this system will seek the optimum balance when cornering. The driver only needs to choose the direction and steer the wheel. Below 10 km/h and when reversing the tilting system is turned off and the vehicle remains upright.

Is there any room for luggage?
Yes, when you travel alone the passenger space is available for your luggage. Also a special trunk is available which you can store under the rear spoiler.

How many persons can travel in a Carver?
Two persons can seat in a tandem seat arrangement in a Carver.

What is the fuel consumption?
Despite the sporty power to weight ratio you can obtain a fuel consumption of 5.5 liter per 100 km (43 miles per US gallon) when cruising. This can increase with a more sporty behavior, in traffic and/or at high speeds.

Legal facts

Has the Carver been road approved?
The Carver has obtained a full EU road approval certificate and thus can be used in all European countries. You can obtain a license plate in any EU country and use it anywhere where you can drive a car.

What driver license do I need to drive a Carver?
In the EU countries you need a normal car driver license to drive a Carver.
