Viper Motorcycle Company Gears Up for Production Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 January 2006

MINNEAPOLIS - Viper Powersports Inc. announced that its subsidiary Viper Motorcycle Company will manufacture and assemble Viper's proprietary motorcycles and motorcycle engines at its Minnesota headquarters. Viper had previously announced an agreement to outsource production with Performance Assembly Solutions in Livonia, Michigan. "The decision to keep all our operations under one roof was based upon greater margins and the ability to facilitate production on an acceptable timeline," said John Lai, President of Viper Powersports. Production is expected to commence in the 2nd quarter of 2006.

Viper will launch its 2006 advertising and marketing campaign, dealer programs and an all new product line at the Cincinnati V-twin Expo Feb. 3-5. According to Terry Nesbitt, President of Viper Motorcycle Company, "We will introduce a second model called the Diablo PC. The Diablo Power Cruiser is a long and low version of the Diablo with a 21-inch front wheel and a 260 rear tire. Both the Diablo and the Diablo PC will be available with an optional 115, 128 or 152 all billet Viper engine. These engines are proprietary to Viper and will be available to the aftermarket industry. We offer innovative proprietary technology, short stroke big bore motors that develop more power while producing less heat. The viper engines come standard with steel liners and are EPA certified. At Cincinnati, we will also introduce competitive prices and innovative dealer programs that we believe will set new industry standards."

In addition, Jerry Posey has been hired as the CFO of Viper Powersports. John Lai, President of Viper Powersports, stated, "Mr. Posey brings 25 years of financial operating experience serving as Vice President of Finance and CFO for a number of companies in diverse industries such as manufacturing, service and retail."
