2-Stroke
A 2-Stroke engine is one having two strokes per cycle. It is also known as a stroker.  The power/combustion stroke is where the exhaust gases are released and occurs on the downstroke.  During the upstroke, the fuel mixture is drawn in, compresses and fires before heading back down again.

EFI
Electronic Fuel Injection.  This technology replaces the use of a carburetor by electronically mixing the fuel/air mixture and injecting it into the cylinders directly.
Flushmount
Flushmounts are non stock signal lights that are generally flush with the body of the bike.  Rather than most signal lights that are connected via a "stem", these types of lights are flush with the body.  They are generally seen more on sportbikes which have fairings that provide many good places to mount the flush signal.

There are two types, the standard flushmount that is really flush with the bike and the billet style (more common) that still have a signal light lens that "bulbs" out from the bodywork slightly.

Although flushmounts can really clean up the look of your ride, they are illegal in many provinces and states and in Saskatchewan, you cannot take your road test with a motorcycle that has them.  The reason is that they can also make you less visible when signaling your intentions to turn, which on a motorcycle can prove dangerous.
Gearing Up

Gearing Up is Canada's only national motorcycle rider training program. It has developed an enviable reputation both in Canada and internationally for its excellence in course curriculum (below) and delivery. That excellence has led to several provinces allowing riders to obtain their motorcycle license without taking any skill test other than the one delivered

at the end of the training program. Many insurance plans recognize the value of Gearing Up by offering insurance discounts to riders who successfully complete the rider training program.

You don't have to own a motorcycle to take the program. The use of a motorcycle while you're taking the program along with full tuition are provided as part of the fee. Many local course sponsors also include your licensing test as part of the course fee.

Highside
Highsiding is when the rider of a motorcycle is flipped over the bike. Often this occurs when the back brake locks up and the tail of the bike slides out of line with the direction of the motorcycle.  When the rider releases the brake, the tire locks up and the bike violently swings upright thereby throwing the rider in the air over the bike.
