Sold my 'ol girl
I was on usedregina.com and I came across an ad for a guy that had a 1991 Ford Ranger 4x4 who was looking to trade for a motorcycle or car. He said the tranny was shot but it was a good truck besides that.
Turns out that it is in excellent shape for a 91, not a spot of rust, runs like a champ, and it's just the clutch that is shot.
It was mechanically inspected in October of 2007 due to a total loss in 2005. Some people shy away from previous TL vehicles but if you've ever had to get a vehicle inspected, you know how perfect a vehicle has to be to pass inspection.
So, $228 for a new clutch, 6-8 hours laying under this truck and I should be able to sell it for at least $3000+
Given my ol GS was worth about $1500 and needed about $500 worth of work done (fork seals, stator/rectifier, new back tire, seat needed recovering), it's a way for me to upgrade a few weeks from now once I get this truck out of my hair. I think everything should work out great.
So, if you hear of anything for sale in the 3-4 Grand range, let me know - I'll be a bike shopping in a month or so...
Here's the sordid story of this ol GS...I brought it back from the dead and road it for 20000 kms without it ever leaving me at the side of the road. Great bike...I'll miss her.

BTW - I'm still on two...I have my wife's FJ600 to ease the motorcycle itch until I replace mine...
