I received this email...seems like someone is trying to pass off a bike as having significantly less mileage than it actually has...
QUOTE:
I was browsing through the motorcycle classifieds this afternoon and found an add that caught my attention. It was an add that matched my last bike. I looked into it a bit more and it was my old bike. Here is the ad:
1999 HONDA Shadow A.C.E. 750, two tone paint, cobra pipes, windshield, leather bags, low milage, $6500 obo Call 737-3663 days or 924-5336 evenings.
He is advertising it at 4000 km's, when it has 60,000 more than that. The last fall that I had it the speedometer was starting to act up and did not always work. When I decided to buy my Harley I decided that I better change the speedometer so that it works for the next owner. I had just a touch over 60,000 on it. Being a digital speedometer, Honda said that there was no way to set it to my original speedometer.
When I found out that he was advertising it at 4000 km's I realized that people need to know that it has a lot more than that on it. I thought that the best way to circulate this was through you as you have some serious e-mail connections to the bikers here in Regina. The owner does realize that he has been caught, but am not sure if he will be honest with anybody else. I have attached a picture of the bike at it was when I sold it. He has changed a few parts and it still looks great and was an awesome bike while I had it.
