Re: Motorcycle wish list... 3 Years, 3 Months ago
to me the v-rod is a perfect bike. its got the sound, looks, flash and yes the name of a harley but the technology, reliability and power of a jap cruiser. i know the newer harleys were getting better before the v-rod, and a lot of them hauled pretty good ass, but i think the v-rod was a pretty big step in the right direction.

The Wraith is a VERY COOL bike. The only downside to it is service for parts. All that custom work, especially the carbon fibre pieces will give our local bike shops mass heart attacks.

You're not alone :beerchug: I can't stand the look of the wraith either.
As for a motorcycle I wish for... anything that runs'd be good right about now but I really like the Kawasaki 636 and Z750S - If money were no object and size didn't matter the Triumph Sprint ST, Ducati ST3 or Ducati Monster S4R.

A friend of mine (OleManZ) has an 05 Z750 and he really likes it. I took it for a rip and it's a purty comfortable and powerful bike. Just not sure about all the gold accents....but it definitely grows on ya...

i dont particularily like the wraith either, its a bit extreme for me but i can see how some one with that kinda taste could appreciate it. my old man is thinking of buying one of those z750s, but hes scared it'll be to crouched in the riding position. do you guys know if more of a sport position or a cruiser position. i would assume its kinda in between.
Motorcyclist July 2005 did a comparison on the Buell Lightning City X and the Kawasaki Z750S - I won't get into the whole thing here but a couple of quotes on the comfort factor fot the z750s:
"You sit essentially upright on the roomier z750S cockpit"
"The riding stance is upright and roomy save for high, forward-mounted pegs that put kinks in long legs. The firm seat slopes forward, sliding you into the tank on long rides."
"Its longer chassis and orthodox riding position encourage aggressive cornering"
"the z750s can't mathc the Buell's brass-knuckles attitude, but the Kawasaki's more orthodox ergonomic arrangement is more comfortable for a broader range of riders, especially on longer rides."

Ok. I got pretty into it. It sounds like SO much fun... :jump:
