I'm thinking of buying a new helmut and jacket. Any thoughts? Looking for fair quality at a good price...

This won't help with the helmet, but once a year - typically in Feb/Mar, Costco has motorcycle jackets on sale.  I bought one (actually 4) 1.5 yrs ago and the jacket is still fine, no issues with wear, zippers, etc.

<br /><br />Really? I have a costco membership...never even thought to look...<br /><br />Definately have to keep that in mind...foh sure.

I got mine from the leather shop in the Northgate mall. I think it was a little later in the year. Just happened to be going past there, and they had the motorcycle jackets on for about 60% off.It was a few years ago now, so I am not to sure if it is even open anymore.

<br /><br />Yah, I don&#039;t think they are, but this gives me a good heads up about where to get jackets, I was mostly thinking about bike shops.&nbsp; But, if a guy can get something from a retailer that doesn&#039;t just sell bikes, there may be a deal to be had.<br /><br />Someone should open a bike shop that doesn&#039;t ass-rape you on all the gear.&nbsp; Kinda like CWS tuning, they&#039;re the only game in town for used VW parts, so they charge ya the big bucks...cause they can.

You could also try the leather ranch in the southland mall. I know they have bike jackets there. Not to sure what the prices are like, but it would be a good quality jacket. Also if you can hold off until the end of the season, there are usually some good deals to be found.

<br /><br />I&#039;ve bought a few jackets from the leather ranch.&nbsp; While the quality is good from a &quot;looks&quot; perspective, their leather isn&#039;t that strong when it comes to sliding down the road.&nbsp; Their prices are also fairly high.<br /><br />Another option, if you know anyone going to Sturgis, some really good deals can be had on leather jackets down there.&nbsp; Picked up one 5 years ago that is still in great shape.

i have HJC helmets at can-tire.&nbsp; All black, a few with graphics for full face.&nbsp; and a few half helmets.&nbsp; also i have a modular helmet.&nbsp; HJC&#039;s are cheaper, but iv not had any complaints.&nbsp; personally i wear a Joe Rocket helmet.
