Phyllis Cameron, manager of the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon sent in this call for riders for an uncoming event. As you may know this theatre is a community-owned, non-profit movie and live event theatre.
This year our major fundraiser is a motorcycle lottery; first prize is a 2006 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe valued at $29,000. Only 4500 tickets will be sold and the price is $20 per ticket.
To kick-start the Harleywood All-Wheels Lotto we are planning an event for Sunday May 7. The idea is to have our side of Broadway Avenue full of motorcycles for that afternoon. (We are asking the City to close off just that section of the street so the bikes will be safe). We will be screening a matinee of The World’s Fastest Indian starring Anthony Hopkins. The movie, set in the 60s, is about 65 yr. old Burt Munroe of New Zealand who takes his ancient Indian motorcycle to Utah and actually sets a world record of 201 mph his first entry!
Anyone who parks his/her bike at the theatre that afternoon gets free admission to the matinee and anyone who buys a lotto ticket that day also gets free admission. All riders will get a chance to win the main door prize of a chrome Eagle Chock (retail range $180 - $200) donated by Eagleline Motorsports.
