purchasing new bike 2 Years, 8 Months ago
I am helping a friend look for a bike. He is currently dealing on an '82 virago 750 and an '85 maxim X. The price is close enough not to be an issue so reliability would be the next deciding factor( the maxim kicks the virago's ass in the looks department) Any thoughts?

the 750 virago in 1982 had a starter problem it all depends on what you plan to do with the bike wether or not you go v-twin or 4 cyl the v-twin sounds better but the maxim will most likely out last it good luck

It all depends what he wants - I'm not sure I could say a bad thing about either bike myself.

I would personally go with the Maxim myself - but that's just based on looks and the inline 4. Things that are just personal opinion.

And :welcome: to the site by the way O0
