Dallas's Ride 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Here is how my Magna looked after about 3 months of work, and several new parts. The only thing missing in the pic is the new rear tire.

I have been digging around, but can't find the older pics that I had.

There really isn't a lot of visuall change, besides being much cleaner. About the only thing you would see are the new tires, back one still isn't on in this pic, and the SS gass line. Besides that, I replaced all of the other hoses, disassembled the carbs, and did a good cleaning on them. All new seals in the carbs as well as all new SS allen head bolts. New fork seals. Changed all of the fluids in the bike. Did a valve adjustment. Synched the carbs. I also spent several hours scrubbing, cleaning, and polishing parts. Its surprising how good things look when you take 20 years of dirt and grease off. I am sure there is more that I am forgetting, but that is probably the major stuff.

No doubt...I'm thinking of doing some major cleaning on mine in the off season. It's a painstaking process, but it pays off in the end. Only problem that I can see is that I wouldn't want to get it dirty again...hehe. I like the fact that now if it's raining or whatever, I don't have to care about all my hard work gettin' dirty...

Re: Dallas's Ride 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I hear you on that one. I basically scrubbed the bike down with a tooth brush, and then waxed every part that I could find. Once it was done and tuned, I think it sat in the garage for about 2 days. I didn't want to take it out and get it dirty. By about the 3rd day of having it done, I had to jump on and ride it. It was about 3 days later when I rode it in the rain for the first time since the cleaning. Now it is dirty again, and I have no problems riding rain or shine. On the 17th a couple friends and myself, who hadn't been out together yet this year, decided to ride rain or shine from Regina to Ketepwa. It was raining when we left, and it was still raining when we got back. The nice thing about all that work and wax, it cleans up so easily.

Hey...do you work downtown...more specifically SaskTel?

I get off at 4.17 every day and I often see a guy on a very similar bike to yours turning from Lorne onto Sask Drive. And then I noticed what I thought to be the same bike in the SaskTel parkade...

just wondering...

Re: Dallas's Ride 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I do have a small tinted windshield on mine now as well as a set of highway pegs. The windshield is great for on the highway. I left it off for the first little while, but after a trip from Moose Jaw back to Regina with a stong headwind, it went back on that night. If I am going out to play around and ride hard, it comes off though.
