coming out west to find the BEST RIDES 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Hello all you westerners!

Writer on the move here, coming from out east to explore the BEST RIDES IN THE WEST. So I want to hear from you people. I have been in southern Saskatchewan before, Regina, Moose Jaw, Swift Current...you can see it was the southern route which I did. This time, I am spending a couple of months touring and I am doing the more northern route via Saskatoon. I would really appreciate hearing from you people as to where I should ride, what I shouldnt miss as I do that more northern route.
And another point...I have come through before in the summer, too early to see GOLDEN WHEAT FIELDS. So I promised I would be back because my dream is to take a photo of me on my bike in a wheat field. Is it possible folks? When, is my real question...when should I be riding through the province? I plan to come through the first time in August and then come back through again in September. One of those times, I just 'gotta' see the GOLDEN WHEAT FIELDS. Man, you havent seen Canada until you have seen the seas of Canadian wheat...and I want that picture. Please help !! I will gladly ride with ya if you can take me to that 'sea of wheat!"
Ride safe, ride with the rubber on the road !

The best time to come out would be mid September, depending on how hot or dry the summer is. The hotter and dryer, the earlier the crops will start to change. In any event, you should definately, and eventually, be able to see what you want.

Highway #16 between Saskatoon and Lloydminster will be a good place to see a wheat field. You could even try Highway #40 located between North Battleford and Prince Albert, probably a little more scenic too.

Even try some of the secondary highways North and East of the Battlefords.

Hope that helps. Enjoy.
