Problems in Pocket Bike land 2 Years, 7 Months ago
So I bought my boys a pocket bike. He was actually ripping around on it this past Saturday (photo attached)

Anyhow, I took it for a rip that day as well and it seemed to bog when I gave it 3/4 to full throttle. It would die out if I were to hold it open as such. It's just started doing this.

So, Saturday night, my son convinced my wife to come and check out his newfound ridin' skills. So I fired up the bike in the driveway and it started fine. Rode it down the driveway, it bogged out and stalled and when I went to try it again - no go.

I fought with the stupid thing all Sunday afternoon and it'll sputter here and there (barely ever though). It seems to have a real decent spark (I pulled it out) and it's getting fuel. I drained the float bowl on the carb and then it tried to start but died.

Anyhow...the only thing I did different than usual was mix less oil in with the gas (25:1) as I had already run through about 5 tanks mixing it at 20:1 to break it in.

I'm stumped...ideas? Before I call someone to take a gander??

I have the carbs draining right now, I figure I'll try and put 20:1 back in but I can't see that being the problem...

Anyway..he had a blast and I feel for my boy as I can't get the stupid thing goin' again and my arm's real tired

Was the plug wet when you pulled it out? My first guess would be that it maybe flooding since the problem started when you were going 3/4 to WOT. Either that, or what does it have for a choke? :dunno:

Could try and look at that after we get your other bikes wiring fixed :beerchug:

haha...i'll bring it over. I have a feeling you're right - the plug was a bit wet...but not overly. I dried it off and put it back in and it didn't even sputter so I dunno...

It's nothing to throw it in the back of the van though...so we'll see O0

Alright, should make for a full evening of wrenching on bikes paz_smilie:.

And the best part of that is once you are done, you always have to go for a test ride to make sure it still all works :jump:
