Synthetic Oil 2 Years, 8 Months ago
I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get synthetic oil from. I have decided to switch from conventional oil to synthetic, but I am having a hard time finding the right oil.

Specs for my bike say to use 20w40 oil, but I can not seem to find synthetic 20w40.

Anyone know a place in Regina that has this stuff?

Your best bet is probably AMSOIL. http://www.AMSOIL.com

Call Darren 306-862-4223 or email him at: dgrind18@hotmail.com If they don't make it, he may know what you could use as a substitute.

We also have a member - Lubeman - who worked in the oil industry. Hopefully he'll pop in in the next couple days and give his advice as well. You could see if he has an email in his profile and contact him that way.

Let me know how you make out!

I am also using AMSOIL products in my bike. I have been getting it from Peavy Mart, but I will have to contact Darren and see what his prices are.

If you guys are interested and you go through more than $100.00 per year, then I can set you up as a preffered customer, costs $30.00 per year and you can buy Amsoil at my price delivered right to your door. Check out their product line up at www.amsoil.com
Send me an e-mail at grantjim@telus.net if you are interested.

Lubeman

Viragorider. Saw your post and am wondering if I might be of assistance. With some 28 years in the lubrication industry there isn't too many lubes I don't know of. Got a question??? Post it on grantjim@telus.net and I would be glad to see if I can help you out. As to syntheitics, if you are riding a Virago, then you should be most likely running on 10W40. I reserve the 20W50 for the air cooled like the Harleys.

LUbeman

Hmmm, that reminds me, I probably should buy some oil now before the prices jump up.

I can also supply you with AMSOIL and I am in Regina every day. I work at Plains Marketing at night (across McDonald from the Co-op refinery). The oil you would want to use is 20W50 for V-twins or 10W40 for other bikes like my 4 cylinder Honda.
