Motorcycle mechanics 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
The bike has been running a little rich, so last night there was a preteen birthday party and it was raining, what beter time to be in the garage working on the bike?
I wanted to check that the PMS screws were turned out an equal amount, then I was goinmg to check what size of mains and jets the stealership put in when they re-jetted. Finally I was going to synch the carbs.
wanted, going to, wanted to.

I took off the gas tank for access to the carbs, and it started. A stripped out machine screw holding the speedo assembly onto the top of the tank. After a look at the screws holding together everything that must be removed to check the jets etc. I realised every single screw was stripped or almost stripped including the PMS screws.
The previous owner took it into Proline for the work (so he said)
Maybe I should bring it to Rod's house and try and slip it in to be fixed?

Sheesh, some people should not be allowed to work on this stuff. (meaning whomever stripped all these screws).
Just a small vent.

I know how you feel, ran into that problem with the KZ, had to change at least half the srews because they were stripped. Sure was a pain drilling and tapping those holes.

Sure, take a number. But that wouldn't be much help. I'm not doing the work on the bike -- and for good reason. I'd be rounding off all the nuts trying to extract them using vice grips...
