Tire pressure 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
The manual for my new-to-me '76 KZ900 says the tire pressures should be 28F/32R. A couple of guys recommend 40psi front and rear. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rod.

I've always gone by what the vehicle says...not the tires.

A couple of nuts and fall is a long way off lol
I would follow the factory specified (frame/manual) pressures until such a time as you find the delphi forum that is dedicated to your bike... if there is one.

Mine states 32 front and 36 rear and that's what most people have been posting.(2-up riding 32-33 for single)
But Syd from the course stated what? 43psi? He has a LOT of km on his bikes.(his wife has 300,000km on her virago and she says he has waaay more)

I tried 40psi after the course, but I didn't like the feel and went back down.
Being on only 2 tires allows the change in pressure to give you some noticable feedback when changing it up.

I have always gone with pressures recommended by the tire manufacturers, not the bike frame. The bike makers specs were ok as long as you have that same tire on the bike, but when you change to a different tire manufacturer there will be different specs because of different compounds and tire structure.
My bike came with bridgestones originally and when I changed the rear tire to dunlop I asked this question and the dunlop spec requires more pressure to run cooler and offer better handling.

Just my 2 cents,
Brian
