I dunno what&#039;s going on lately - I&#039;ve been an active eBay member for 5 yrs or something and a seller for one...never have had a problem.<br /><br /><br />In the last 2 months:<br /><br />- one guy buys a DVD from me, pays via PayPal, I don&#039;t hear from him at all and then I get an email from PayPal that he&#039;s filed a complaint - he hasn&#039;t received it yet.&nbsp; No biggy - stuff gets lost in the mail and I would&#039;ve refunded his money no problem except that he never even contacted me directly - just files a complaint.&nbsp; So I ask him to wait until May 31st, he doesn&#039;t receive it by then, I&#039;ll refund his money no questions asked.&nbsp; Turns out that PayPal automatically finds in favour of the buyer if the seller hasn&#039;t refunded their money or provided a tracking # 10 days after the complaint is filed - so he got his money back on the 27th and he&#039;s probably watching the DVD right now.&nbsp; (By the way - this is quite likely why many buyers are starting to only ship express since a signature is required)<br /><br />- Theeeeennnn...I buy a front sprocket from a dude on April 25th.&nbsp; I pay him immediately via PayPal.&nbsp; 3 weeks later...still not here even though it says right in the auction that it would be at my door within 2 weeks.&nbsp; So, I politely ask the dude where it is and he gives me this sob story of how he&#039;s going through a divorce and works during the day so he can only ship his stuff on every second Saturday.&nbsp; So, I&#039;m pissed (since obviously 3 Saturdays had gone by and he hadn&#039;t even shipped it yet) so I email him and tell him to just cancel the auction then - refund my money.&nbsp; So he does - I&#039;m happy.&nbsp; Or am I??&nbsp; Well I was...until I receive an email from PayPal this morning saying that this guy filed an unpaid item dispute!!!&nbsp; :rant:&nbsp; :rant:&nbsp; :rant:<br /><br />What the hell is wrong with people?!?!?!?!?!?! Paypal better not find in favour of this prick!!!!&nbsp; :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant: :rant:

Yup - ebay is getting stupid.&nbsp; I&#039;ve kind of stopped buying things from ebay and simply buy stuff from classifieds on website forums I frequent, like this one.&nbsp; Smaller group, no idiots bidding up the price of stuff you want and they have no use for simply because they see this as a source of income if they resell it, and I tend to trust the people on the sites I frequent.&nbsp; I know most of them, they know me and its not worthwhile messing with that.

:rant: Try this on for size!&nbsp; I bid on and won a motorcycle communication set.&nbsp; The ebay auction ad was all in English, payment was in&nbsp; Australian dollars, (no big deal), but when I get the instructions for paying with a money order, everything is in Italian.&nbsp; How am I&nbsp; supposed to know where to send the money to, and who to make it&nbsp; out to when I don&#039;t speak or read Italian?&nbsp; What a bunch of screwballs.

ebay used to be pretty cool.&nbsp; now everyone is figuring out all the scams.&nbsp; its unbeliveable. if i may say so.

I actually haven&#039;t ended up being really screwed - I got my money back on the one item I paid for and didn&#039;t receive - i still have 100% feedback...only problem that I&#039;ve had was a buyer filed a dispute and I had to refund his 8 bucks even though I did send it to him.<br /><br />And SA...Italian huh? I&#039;d be screwed too.
