Would you loan your bike out? 3 Years, 1 Month ago
If a buddy (or anyone) were to ask to take your bike for a ride, what would you say?

I've had some close friends ride my bike, but I always cringe a bit until it's back safe and sound...

What about you??

NO ONE rides my bike unless i know they can ride well. But if they can ride well and i have seen them ride and i know they would never do anything dumb on my bike then i will let them ride it.but i get to ride theirs right beside them!

My ol lady rides the ninja but no one else. I've ridden with her enough to know how she rides and I'm fairly confident in her abilities, and I know it'll stay on two wheels.

The only one that has rode my bike is the wife otherwise noone else is alowwed to touch it, The onlt reason I let her ride it is because I sold hers on her last summer. I never let anyone but my wife touch any of my toys...If she breaks it ok I have to fix it but if someone else breaks it I would get really pissed cause chances are they will not help witht hte cost to repair.

:welcome: to the site!!!

And I agree with ya in regards to the possibility of getting someone besides kin to fork out the cash to get it fixed...I doubt it would even happen.
i let my buddy take mine for a spin about a month ago. hes been riding dirt bike since he was like 4 and now races motocross on a ktm 450 sx, so i thought it would be all cool. any ways he starts doing some wheelies, first gear little pop ups. then realises secound has a lot more control. so thats good hes doing some nice wheelies, but cant keep the wheel up into third. he then pushes it to far trying to get into third, and loops it out at 60 k. the bike slid on its side for like a block, and the only damage would have been the tail light and the right signals and foot peg, but the bike slid into a curb and destroyed the guages and head light.

i wasnt too mad cause hes the kinda guy who'll pay for anything he wrecks and hes a bike mechanic in town here. he has paid for everything and should be throwing together soon. i guess im lucky in a way, but i miss the bike.

Oh bummer! At least he wasn't hurt. As a rule I don't loan anything out. Not the same as a bike, I lent a girl my horse for a couple of weeks and when I got him back he had picked up SO many bad habits!! It seriously took me a year to get him back to normal :censoredsmilie: So I wouldn't lend my bike out even if it is a cheapo beater bike. :dunno:

Wow, that's gotta suck...

Good thing he didn't just say "Well....sorry...good luck with the bike!!" That would be even worse!

I personally don't quite get the thrill of stunting, including wheelies. Ridin' is dangerous as it is, let alone, adding more to it. I think that to enjoy a ride, you don't need anything other than the wind coming at ya, the sun shining down and a whole lot of ground to cover.
