Now this has to be the dumbest f...............ever!!! 3 Years, 3 Months ago

Saw this on another forum...man is this guy and track stupid.....

"isaac": I was up in Montgomery, Alabama for a Volvo meet (which was badass by the way) and we went to the track.

There were a few bikes there, pulling down consistent 10s and 11s and I thought nothing of it because I was there for the Volvos and had seen plenty of bikes like this before.

That changed when two guys on Harleys came up. One was on some manner of custom looking bike, the other was on a v-rod.

V-rod guy had on jeans, a polo shirt, a full helmet, and tennis shoes. No gloves.

Custom guy had on jeans, a t-shirt, a skull cap, and walking shoes. No gloves.

At this point I tell myself that there's something very wrong with this picture. At the track I go to in Orlando (Orlando Speedworld Dragway) they won't let you on the track without full leathers, full helmet, gloves, and boots.

Custom guy creeps up to the box and the lights on the tree dont light up. He's not in the box yet, and just stares forward waiting for the tree to drop for some reason. It's obvious he's never done this before.

The track official waves him forward, and he passes the first light, then the second light, then gets beyond the first light. The track official says screw it and drops the tree anyway.

Custom guy nails it, dumps the clutch, and immediately loses control of the bike. The rear end wags right, then left, and the front takes off for the center dividing wall.

He slams into it at full throttle with the clutch still engaged, smashing his leg up against the cement wall, and carrying his body over the wall. The bike slides down the track on its side about 30 feet.

The guy gets up afterward with the help of the emergency personnel, but I didn't see him walk for the rest of the night. He was driven off on a stretcher.

I have no idea what this guy was doing at the track. Not to toot my own horn, but after riding for only 8 months or so and stepping onto my GS750 for only two months, I could do repeated full power launches with the rear wheel spinning away and not lose control. Know how? The clutch is there for a reason.

I mean come on.
