Saskatoon Motorcycle Training course. 6 Months ago
As some of you may know I took the safety course a couple of weekends ago. Figured I would post how it went...

Day 1 (Friday evening) We spent our time learning to move the bike while walking, which is a very good thing to learn.
We also rode the bikes a short distance under partner power.
Day 2 we were familiarized with the controls and starting, stopping and turning etc.
Friction zone was also a part of day 2. We got some classroom instruction that was very informative as well.
The rest of day 2 and 3 was spent riding and straightening out my bad habits.
Soon enough (supposedly real soon) they will be able to do the "M" road test after the course like they do in Regina.

There were 2 falls that I saw, with me almost falling 3 times
They use these tiny cones and when I hit them with the clutch in I got a great groin stretch erk.

Overall it was a great way to spend 300 bucks and a weekend. Good refresher for the new riding season as well. The instructors are obviously knowledgeable about riding and it shows in their teaching. There was even a guy that came in from Calgary to take it, seems it is tough to get into and expensive over yonder.

I have to agree with Daniel's take on the event. My biggest problem was that I'd never ridden anything before and I was a little too preoccupied during the exercises with just figuring out the controls and staying upright. I'd certainly consider a refresher once I have more seat time.

Something I really need to practice is a more gradual application of throttle vs clutch release. There are no extra points for wheely starts...

That depends on if you stay with the bike or if you are watching it ride away without you
Did you get your ride fixed yet?

Backordered -- maybe 3 weeks...

So I pulled apart the old one, pulled out the broken bits and set it in the open position and bolted it back up. No leaks so maybe now have done my fist bike 'repair'. Hope to try it tomorrow.

Good job. There is a reason most people don't play with the petcock... and you just found out why.
I was down in your area this am for a bit. Sure a lot of garage sales down there this weekend.
