Re:Out and about 9 Months, 1 Week ago
Darn is that truck dirty in the pic.
Well, today it hit 6C in Saskatoon but was very windy so the riding was good not great.
I have still yet to put more than 3 - 5 highway kms yet, but there is hope for tomorrow. The plumber is running slow so it's looking like a day of relative leisure. I say relative because I am working on the basement as well.

Another 41 days until the course, but whose counting?

Re:Out and about 9 Months, 1 Week ago
Been a bit on the chillier side lately. Yesterday had a pretty wild wind start up in the afternoon.

Today is looking up as in the forecast for the next week

Re:Out and about 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Fantastic weather the last couple of days for sure. 23 today and it got to 18 yesterday. It was great being able to ride to Cyclemania. How many of you went?

Speaking of witch
some very fantastic bikes on view. Even some interesting rat bikes. There was an 80s Softail (I think) in Black and white that I could have stolen it was so nice but my leather was too tight to fit it. I love softtails and fatboys. The only thing that I hate (well dislike intensely) about Harleys is the overblown price tag. Ouch.
Amazes me that people have that kind of money to spend on a bike. I would if I could pay cash... darn it, never happen.

Tatoo alley was going full bore on Saturday. With about 75% of the people I saw having at least a few tattoos it's really no wonder. Some nice work and some that looked like it was done in the pen. Each to thier own, right?

Harley's have come down in price alot in the last couple years, they're actually fairly competitive now...

Glad to hear it was a good show. I was there last year and it seemed pretty good to me.

I guess reality has been smacking them in the face. their sales drop but the Japanese sales are up.
I'm fairly mechanically inclined and I would hesitate to buy one. Imagine people with no clue? They would have to take it in every what? 4 weeks?

OK, nough busting the ummm... teasing the Harley guys. They have been improving HUGE and who would the Japanese have to copy if there were no HD?

Well, first time out for a bit. Still a bit on the cool edge, but refreshing.
Boychuk drive in Saskatoon was washed by the city today and it takes about 40 feet before you notice it is slippery now that it's colder out

Neighbor just bought a beautiful white softtail. Sounds oh so good.

Re:Out and about 6 Months, 1 Week ago
No comments? LOL

The baby is a total write-off. It looked to me when I saw it that there was very little damage, but according to Proline, there is lot.

It was June 11th and my wife and I were making a deposit at the bank and then I was taking her to a parking lot for her bi-evening practice. I decided on a quiet route to the usual parking lot as opposed to the busier freeway route.
We were following a half ton truck and he pulled into the parking lane and slowed almost to a stop, I proceeded past as I have done 1000 times before.
As I came abreast of the rear bumper of the truck I saw that the left signal had come on, I veered to the far left of my lane but as he hit the signal light he turned the wheel.
If he had been pulling back into the lane life would have continued as per normal. Instead he was pulling a u-turn.
We hit the front of his truck about even with the front wheel, maybe a tad in front. I with my right foot, knee and shoulder denting the truck quite badly and continued on with the bike at about a 30 degree lean to hit a fence and metal bus route pole which flung me rolling down the sidewalk.
As soon as I came to a stop I looked for my wife. She was laying without moving in the middle of the opposite lane we had been traveling on. She had been thrown directly over the hood of the 4x4 coming down with great force on her right side (I found this out later).
The fire dept. ambulance and police arrived in good time and she was placed on a backboard and we were taken to the RU Hospital.
I was fine, relatively speaking , but my wife was in HUGE pain in the middle of her body.
After 5 hours and 12 x-rays she was drugged up big time and sent out the door. 3 days ago we find out she has a compression fracture and maybe a broken bone in her hand, she is still using a cane and probably will be for months to come.
I have a broken bone in my foot, a somewhat worse knee than I had before and a bad memory.
And no bike.

We are lucky people, it could have ended quite a bit worse for sure. We were wearing full face helmets (the markings indicate we would have both had facial injuries with a shorty) we had our leathers on and boots and gloves.

I can look at the marks on my leathers and broken right boot and know that All The Gear All The Time (ATGATT) is the only way to ride. Had we been dressed differently it would have been a horrible experience instead of just a bad one.

Anyone selling a nice fishing boat ROFL

Holy crap, Daniel -- glad to hear that you're both mostly OK. Sorry to hear about the bike too! I never noticed the damage in the photo when you posted that. Here's hoping that you both heal quickly.

Rod.

Looks like next to no damage in person as well, but the right side engine case took a good shot so...

Thanks for the well wishes.
