Out and about 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Anyone else get in any riding time in the last couple of days?
I saw a Buell out and about on Thursday, so I got a permit and rode the bike over to a claims centre nearby to get the numbers read on Friday after work.

Had the wife follow me on the maiden voyage so I could concentrate on riding and not other people so much.
She is sooo patient... good thing.

Last bike I rode had a more standard riding position so when I brought my feet up on the v star I automatically shifted to 2nd.
Yep, hit the heel shifter and stalled it about 3-4 times. Right in front of the darn neighbor too, how embareassing.
So awesome to be back up and at er.

I haven't been out this year yet, I'm waiting on brakes. I had to park it for the last couple weeks of last year because they needed to be done and I thought I'd wait til this year to get them done....I think I'm regretting that now!

I should be out and about next weekend if she stays above 0 woo!

front or rear?
It's supposed to snow up to 10cm tonight with windchills in the mid -20s. Which is just as well.
I got the richness of the bike fixed (choke linkage) Just to see that the rear end is out of alignment.
A few things to keep my attention till it's nice enough again.

I have seen that site before but haven't looked at it for a while. Pretty good resource for Suzuki...

2 bikes? spoiled
I wonder why I had to pay PST on my "used" bike? According to the bulletin the SGI guy showed me RVs aren't exempt either. There are a few more things I disremember.

spoiled? You haven't seen the two bikes!

I thought that too but if you go back and look at the press releases, it does say it in there - don't believe the NDP - the SP is actually living up to their promises

I just registered my venture royale yesterday and wasnt charged any taxes. Is there maybe a price point on the amount where they charge above a certain value?

I put about 100k on my Venture royale yesteday, but was real careful with a bike that size to stay on the streets I new would be dry. I was real paranoid about all the sand and gravel around also, I took most corners in an almost upright stance making it look like i was a new driver to anyone watching I am sure... lol

Nice looking unit friesman1, I saw one like that on Kijiji not that long ago.
I take it you just bought it?
If I remember correctly, when they charged PST on light vehicles they forgave the first 3000.

Now if I could just find my receipt...

Darn weather is teasing, snow in the am and melt in the pm. Cept that skiff of snow and the frost coming up on the pavement sure make it slippery for a 4 wheeler, nevermind a two!

Re:Out and about 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
+5 today and a quick ride in between work and paperwork.
12km lol.
I am going to hit the main streets a bit more on Sat. Today the sun was real low in the sky and I like to be as visible as I can be until I get a bit more used to it.

Took it up to about 95kph for a bit to see how stable it was, but I guess at 545lbs of bike and a 170lb rider it shouldn't be a worry hey? It surely does vibrate less than my Virago at speed.
I want to get out on the freeway a bit. I have to read up on the learners rules, but I believe the only limitations are no passengers, no evenings/nights and within 100km of my address or city.
Didn't we just discuss this a while back?

Re:Out and about 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Yeah, i just picked it up a couple of weeks ago from the ad on UsedRegina.com. Seems to be in nice shape with only a few K's on it for the age. It was tough picking out a bike with snow on the ground but it seems to be pretty good, so far so good. Its a bit higher and seems heavier than my old Goldwing used to be, but the adjustable air ride is fantastic!
