Where to get a great price on a new Gold Wing? 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi!

I'm about to take a vacation in Canada.
And my plan is to buy a Gold Wing to bring home to Sweden.

But I would like to know where to start looking for a great price.

Anyone who know where to look?

Then one idea is to use the bike while I'm in Canada and USA before I fly home.
Is it possible for me to register a Bike even though I don't live in Canada?

I have an address is Los Angeles that I can use, but I prefer a Gold Wing from Canada cause you use km and not miles.

Any suggestions are welcome!

I know that Honda is trying to change their operations especially in Canada where all Honda products will be under one roof.

Since many of these supercenters are not built yet, some existing dealers are having difficulty getting 2008 models in stock.

Your best bet would likely be larger centers like Edmonton, Calgary or Vancouver. Email them and see what they have in stock and what their prices are.

As far as insurance, I'm not sure how that would work. In Saskatchewan, you wouldn't be able to register it I don't think because our auto insurance is a public system.

I don't know what a Goldwing costs in Sweden but after shipping and everything, it'll likely end up much more expensive. You'll also find that a Gold Wing will be cheaper to buy in the states than in Canada and I'm sure that the speedo will be in both miles and kilometers.

Good luck!

The GW would be waaay cheaper to buy in the states. Judging by the bikes I have been shopping on ebay the speedo is only in mph on merican bikes.

Goldies are sinfully expensive in Canada because of the prices Yamaha charges being so different between Kanada and the US FWIHR.

Another note would be that there are many places where you can rent a motorcycle. If you're just looking to tour around...that may be an option worth exploring.

If you want to go to the US - try Sindt Motors in Dubuque IA. They always seem to have some good deals on non-current Hondas.

Honest and they give you price all in.

Thanks for all replies.

Unfortunately a Gold Wing in Sweden is much more expensive.
I could pay 30 - 35 000 Canadian Dollars Depending on model plus I will pay 13000 US Dollars for flying the bike to Sweden and I pay 6% to Swedish Customs and at last I pay 25% tax on sum of bikes price, transportation and customs fee. And then I end up at about the same price as in Sweden.

OK it's a bit of work to get it over here. But I still think it's worth it.

If nothing else I found a dealer in South Caroline that will sell me the model with Airbag for $20500 (US Dollars)

And I hope one of my relatives in US will buy that bike from me for $12000 before I buy it back for the same price. Then I get Receipt for $12000 which will be great when I come to the Swedish Customs....

Maybe I should change the trip and end it in Saskatoon instead...

Thanks again for all replies!
