Salvage Yards - Post some info please 2 Years, 4 Months ago
I need to find some good salvage yards (esp in Canada) that deal in good used and preferably cheap motorcycle parts.

I hear there's a good one in Calgary but I dunno the name of it.

Regina Cycle Salvage doesn't have what I need (An upper case for an FJ1100) and even if they did, they want 350 bucks. *cough* ripoff.

Any info on good yards would be appreciated...

Thanks;

Kevin

Try this link http://www.moto-directory.com/salvage.asp
Scroll down to the Canada section and you can see the Calgary dealer, a Brandon dealer, etc.

Yeah, I've seen that...I was looking for first/second hand experiences with them. I'd like to find a decent place to deal with.

Sorry - no first hand with anyone except the local guy here and the bike yard in Toronto where I just walked in the door to browse, but didn't buy anything.

One of the guys here at work was telling me about a really good salvage yard. If I remember correctly it was somewhere out around the TO area. I will see if I can get some more info about the place for you.

Well I have some sweet news...

LyleD from sasksportbike has a case up in Saskatoon and not only is it exactly what I need but the dude is giving it to me for nuttin'. Heck of a guy, he's bringing it to Lumsden (He's racing with the PSRA) and I'm gonna head out to grab it from him.

However, continue posting up about good wrecking yards...I'm sure I'll need a good wrecking yard for this bike, or my other bike, or the wife's bike or future bikes - you get my picture (not all of us can afford a BMW - pffff)

Anyhow...I'm pumped O0

Since I posted this, I found one in BC that has been good to feel with - I tried to find a stock seat for my Suzuki for 2 years or more and these guys ended up coming through for a great price - $95 shipped!
