The guy who makes the freedom stuff is always at the local shows and also participates in local rides( I have seen him at ST Victor a couple times). someone like this is very accessable and if you had problems I am betting he would make it right. if I take the plunge into heated gear I will be sure to try the local product, but for now I am sticking with my trusty wool sweater under my leather as it is a cheap if not completly satisfactory alternative

I've got a Freedom vest that worked through a major blizzard I got caught in last year between Swift Current and the Hat. My jacket leaked, but the vest kept on working. Considering the temperatures were below zero, the only problems I have with cold were the back of my neck and parts of my arms. I'd give them a thumbs up.. I've tried Gerbing clothing on at shows, but that hardly counts cause its always 90+ F and I'm HOT before I try on any of their stuff. They do have some interesting add-ons like variable heat controllers and pigtails so you can have a headgear, gloves, jacket/vest, underwear, pants, and socks working together. Of course if you plug all of those in, you'll need a bike with a pretty big alternator just to keep a charge on the old battery.

I actually ended up buying the Gerbings Jacket Liner & Gloves - mostly because of the lifetime warranty - have only used it to test it out - but it seems pretty good. Gerbings did say that I should use my on/off switch and switch to OFF when riding in town or under 3000 RPM in order to maintain the charge on my battery - I also picked up a battery tender - just to be on the safe side.

Well, I'd think you'd be hard pressed to go wrong with the Gerbings. They are just a bit pricer than I wanted to dump into a heated vest.

I'm not sure what the vests sell for but there was only $20 difference in price on the jacket liner between Gerbings & Freedom - not as much as I had thought it would be. I'm looking forward to riding late into the fall this year........even more than usual.
