Used bikes 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I have been checking out a lot of used bikes looking forward to this spring.
I have been noticing that a used bike costs not much less than a new one really. Cept one tax and maybe a thousand off.

Here is an ad for a 2006 v star 650 custom I saw.

It depends though. Many more bikes come on the market come mid-March April. Right now, not too many tend to sell.

A new bike definitely has it's perks of course like warranty and the piece of mind that you know where it's been.

I suppose that's quite true, they are hibernating. But I bet there's a few nice deals out there.
Plus it burns an hour or so in the evening before bed

ok if someone new to riding starts on a 600 sportbike, since I used to ride a lot I should be ok with one of these?

Sweet looking machine. Would be a shame to lay it down during the learning curve though

With a guys luck...

Realistically I'm sure a person could start on one. But the "whoops" factor is too extreme for me.
Hitting a bump when not paying attention and accidentally giving the gas a shot on a cruiser is bad enough, imagine that baby?
Might meet up with that satellite.

That's it right there. Can a person start on something like that? Sure. A responsible person can start on nearly any motorcycle and do ok. Thing is though that sometime things get squirrely no matter how much experience you may have and the more power you have, the faster it can get out of control before you can blink.

As a person gains experience, you can better feel and sense when things are gonna go bad and adjust accordingly. Until you gain that experience, a less powerful bike will help you retain control bigtime.

What can you say but "wow"?
The seat looks like it may not hold the weight.

Re:Used bikes 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am going to be checking out a 94 1100 shadow. Thing is this bike has a 4 speed transmission not a 5 speed.
Does anyone have any experience on one of these? Is 4 gears really enough?
