Another idea...MSF 3 Years, 2 Months ago
|
|
Just sitting here looking at the storm and I thought, what if you had a discussion with the Sask Safety council - the MSF course people. Maybe they could hand out links to your website or perhaps get a deeper relationship established.

This would have 2 positive effects - you'd get increased membership which translates into better negotiations with vendors for discounts, AND
The MSF new riders would have a web site to turn to for questions, help and information on local events.

Just my 2 cents.
That's a great idea. I just appllied to be an instuctor for the MSF training courses. We'll see if anything comes of it.

If anyone is interested, just go to http://www.sasksafety.org/ and click on the motorcycle link on the left.

i dont understand why one does not get thier licence from the MSF course anymore. if i recall it used to be that way, and now its not. But more and more places in teh states are getting into taking the course for you licence, because it forces you to learn some saftey before you ride. it seems we took a giant step backward.

You can still get your licence through them, or at least in Stoon you can. Heather took the week long course then at the end of it she was able to do the road test for her M. There were three girls that all took it after to course and all of them passed. One of the instructors was SGI certified. Worked great, they pretty much know from the week of watching you ride if you'll pass or not so it takes the pressure off.

You make your decision when you first go for your license as to whether you want to take it from SGI or MSF and then you are locked in to that option. The MSF option is more relaxed, but does take longer.

Just rebook and take the test again.

From what I recall, the MSF instructors have to test a certain amount of people to keep their certification up. This may be a way to make sure they get enough tests done in a year if you have to go back to them.
